[edit] Transparency Pledge
One candidate for Attorney General, former prosecutor Robert M. Owens, signed the Buckeye Institute's Pledge for Transparency and Openness In Governmenton August 19, 2008. A signed copy of Owens' pledge can be viewed here. Owens has made government transparency and accountability a centerpiece of his campaign, often citing the scandals of both parties in state government as evidence of the need for independent oversight [1]. He points to past scandals such as Coingate during the Taft administration, and controversy during Dann's time in office.
