Talk:Main Navigation Page

From Ohio Sunshine

Jump to: navigation, search

This is a discussion page, where the wiki community - you - can join in a discussion of how navigation works, which is to say, how does anyone find anything on the wiki, or for that matter anywhere else? This can be a combination reference desk, such as at a library, and design strategy forum.

User JodyNcolumbus started the ball rolling with her contributions of state agency contacts and her view on health transparency.

Her contributions raise two questions, at least. One is where health should be categorized or placed, and the other is, how do the new folks sort things out? Facing the obstacle that she could not edit the main page, she placed her content on community portal. A perfectly acceptable approach - whatever works is my motto - but I think the navigation page is a better place.

My guess that putting up data will be from 25 percent to 50 percent of the enterprise, with 50 percent to 75 percent being figuring out how to organize it and find it.

What does everyone and anyone think about the navigation page? What should it say? What should be the categories? Where does JodyNColumbus's health information go?

Navigability

The link to this navigation page should probably be more visible on the main page.

We need to come up with ways to make pages link together better. There are a ton of Dead Ends and Orphans. Unless people know exactly what to search for, it's going to be hard to find individual pages without sufficient linking.
